Buckwheat's R&B roots are showing on this uptempo blues number, recorded live in 1999 at Hollywood's House of Blues, which comes complete with soul-style horn flourishes and some suitably funky rhythm guitar. Buckwheat's vocals are confident and powerful, and the Ils Sont Partis Band sounds tight and in the pocket; even if you don't normally care for zydeco, it's a roof-raising performance that'll put a smile on your face and a spring in your stride. |
