Welcome !
    The Blue Rags
Asheville, NC’s Rag & Roll purveyors, The Blue Rags, were formed in 1990 by singer/guitarist Scott Sharpe and singer/pianist Jake Hollifield. The following year stand-up bassist Bill Reynolds came aboard, and at his suggestion, drummer Mike Rhodes joined the fold. A fifth member, guitarist Aaron “Woody” Wood, joined the outfit in ’96, the same year the Rags began earning national recognition courtesy of tours with Southern Culture on The Skids and Squirrel Nut Zippers. In 1997, a deal with Sub Pop resulted in Rag N Roll; a second album, Eat At Joe’s was released in March of ’99.
