Betty Blowtorch
Out of the putrid ashes of mid-90s alterna-corers Butt Trumpet comes Betty Blowtorch, a four-woman, no-bullshit rock band from Los Angeles. Formed in 1998 by erstwhile Butt Trumpeters Bianca Butthole (bass, vox), Sharon Needles (guitar, vox) and Blare N. Bitch (lead guitar) withdrummer Judy Molish, Betty Blowtorch quickly built a strong local rep for their provocative songs and speaker-shredding live shows. Named " Best Punk/Hardcore Band" by the LA Weekly, the group has released a six-song EP (Get Off), and is currently putting the finishing touches on their first full-length CD, produced by Monster Magnet engineer Matt Hyde. As Bianca so eloquently puts it, "We want to rock, tour and have fun. Anything else is a waste of time."
