Southern California-based earthlings? are no strangers to this planet. In fact, they've been an integral part of the musical human race for quite some time. Frontman Pete Stahl and his brother Franz founded the legendary Washington, D.C., hard-core punk act Scream, which also featured former Nirvana drummer and current Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl. After Scream’s demise, Pete set out to form the hard rock band Wool, and eventually helped give birth to the current incarnation of earthlings? He’s joined by Dave Catching, a former member of the Modifiers (a group featuring John Densmore of the Doors and Fear's Derf Scratch), who also plays with Queens of the Stone Age and several other acts. Fred Drake, who’s jammed with Los Angeles acts Shy Party and House of Love, and recorded with legendary producers Daniel Lanois, Vic Chestnut, Fu Manchu, Kyuss and Mark Lanegan, completes the trio.
"Ground Control" is a mix of progressive rock emotions that radiates sonically from the platinum-selling U2 anthem "With or Without You" and the popular sounds of today's most prominent adult rock acts. This track has your ears hypnotized from start to finish with its addicting chorus line and musical hooks.
If organic-sounding modern-day rock is your cup of tea, you’ll get a tasty treat from the three seasoned music veterans who form earthlings? You won’t feel "alienated" by their pleasing musical sound.
