London Street Project
Despite its location-based moniker, the London Street Project actually hails from Northern, Calif. The multi-talented female trio, comprising Belinda Robles, Jenn Curiel, and Daria "Shani" Johnson were drawn to one another's mutual desire to craft contemporary, melodic R&B with a danceable edge. Robles is a former student of the Berklee College of Music, where she studied saxophone and arranging. She's also adept at keyboards and drums. Bandmate Curiel is a bassist who's performed with a number of acts in San Francisco and LA. And Berklee graduate Johnson has recorded with such Boston-based bands as Myshkin, Duke Man Tea, and the Shrinking Violets. Currently based in Oakland, Calif., the London Street Project recently recorded the track, "A Little Love," which adeptly captures their modern groove-oriented sound. |
