KVHW
In the skyscape of jam rock, KVHW was a shooting star, a white-hot phenomenon that flamed out before most of the world had a chance to experience their light. Marin County guitar virtuoso Steve Kimock and bassist Bobby Vega, who fronted the enduring Bay Area band Zero, created KVHW as a side project, recruiting Alan Hertz on drums and Ray White (a longtime Frank Zappa collaborator) on rhythm guitar and vocals. Before long, KVHW eclipsed Zero as Kimock's musical mainstay, and rabid fans came out of the woodwork. Amid cancelled gigs and rumors of White's drug problems, KVHW announced their dissolution in late 1999. |
