Welcome !
    North Mississippi Allstars
The sons of legendary producer Jim Dickinson (Rolling Stones, Big Star, Replacements), guitarist Luther Dickinson and his drummer brother Cody have been playing music since around the time they could walk. The two of them formed the North Mississippi All Stars in 1996. Initially conceived of as a loose side-project to their other bands D.D.T. and Gutbucket, the Allstars took on a life of their own once bassist Chris Chew joined the fold in 1998. Unlike Kenny Wayne Sheppard and Jonny Lang, who approach to the music through classic-rock conventions, these young 'uns are heavily inspired by such Southern blues legends as R.L. Burnside, T-Model Ford, and Othar Turner. Their record, Shake Hands With Shorty, was released in May 2000 on Tone-Cool Records.

North Mississippi Allstars Goin' Down South WinMedia Blues
A hard-riffin' electric field holler with a couple of smokin' solos, which probably works better live in a crowded juke joint than in the privacy of your own shack.

North Mississippi Allstars Shake 'Em On Down MP3 Blues, Jambands
R.L. Burnside meets the Allman Brothers at a midnight barbecue. Mmm mmm. Them's some good eats!
