Queens of the Stone Age represent the next evolution of the California desert rock sound. Founded by former Kyuss guitar wizard Josh Homme, QOTSA have spent the last year touring the U.S. and Europe in support of their blistering debut nugget, Queens of the Stone Age (Loosegroove).

After Kyuss disbanded in 1995, singer/writer/guitarist Homme spent some time touring with Screaming Trees before writing the record that would resurrect the riff-heavy, guitar and bong-rock sound of the 1970s. The band's first single, "If Only" saw great success at rock and modern rock radio stations, as well as on tours with Smashing Pumpkins and Hole. QOTSA's follow-up to their self-titled debut should be out on Interscope Records sometime next year.
