Eminem has never shied away from less-than-PC subject matter. And if this track -- a freestyling session with D-12 for Skyrock Radio -- is any indication, his topics are all the raunchier in the live forum. Crude raps aside, though, “Just Rhymin’ With Proof” is indeed proof that Eminem’s skills are more than hype, capturing the rapper as he reels off clever rhymes in rapid-fire succession. It also catches him screwing up: “What I need is smoke weed and brew and/Smoke brew?/You don’t smoke brew!” Unfortunately, Eminem isn’t always as quick with his ups. More often than not, his rhymes fall back on the tired subjects of banging girls and blow jobs, and the track eventually deteriorates into Eminem and D-12 crying “You better back off before I jack off!” like two adolescent boys. Fair warning: Don’t play this track with Mom in the room. |
