Talib Kweli Greene was born in Brooklyn, and attended New York University. In ’94, he visited Cincinnati, where he hooked up with DJ Hi-Tek. The two forged a long-distance partnership, dubbing themselves Reflection Eternal. In ’95, Talib met Mos Def, and the two began working together under the name Black Star. Black Star released its self-titled debut disc in 1998, while Reflection Eternal released its debut, Train Of Thought in October of 2000.
