Welcome !
    The Ramones
Coming together in 1974, the “brothers” Ramone -- singer Joey (nee Jeff Hyman), guitarist Johnny (born John Cummings), bassist Dee Dee (Douglas Colvin), and drummer Tommy (Tom Erdelyi) quickly blasted out of their Forest Hills, New York neighborhood and into the clubs of New York City, helping to put New York punk rock on the map and making CBGB’s famous. Like a photo-negative image of the Beach Boys, the Ramones were capable of harnessing that band’s pop energy and harmonies and cranking them up triple-speed, warping them to their own sinister purposes. While they never had a hit single or a platinum album, it’s impossible to underestimate the influence the Ramones have had on popular music in general, and on punk rock in particular -- quite simply, a great many bands would not exist today had the Ramones not been there first. Their career spanned 15 studio albums (including 1976’s seminal self-tiled debut, 1978’s classic Road To Ruin, and 1980’s Phil Spector-produced End of the Century), four live albums, and several anthologies, and outlasted several line-up changes (Joey and Johnny remaining the only constants), but slow record sales continued to be a source of frustration for the band. Finally, with the release of 1995’s Adios Amigos, the Ramones issued an ultimatum -- if this one doesn’t sell, we’re outta here. Unfortunately, the gambit didn’t work, and the Ramones finally called it quits in 1996. Even so, the band continues to win new fans with each passing year, and exerts a massive influence on the music world to this day.

The Ramones Blitzkrieg Bop LiquidAudio Punk
One of the definitive punk songs from one of the greatest bands of all time - 'nuff said!

The Ramones Please Don't Leave MP3 Punk
An unreleased track from the End of the Century sessions, it's understandable why this was left off that classic album -- while better than most other bands, this is definitely a lesser track by Ramones standards.
