Static-X
A self-described "rhythmic trancecore" band from Los Angeles, Static-X has its roots in Chicago, where lead singer Wayne Static and drummer Kenny Jay played together in such undistinguished Windy City acts as Deep Blue Dream and Stygian. The pair's fortunes finally changed in the mid '90s, when they moved to Southern California and formed Static-X with guitarist Koichi Fukuda and bassist Tony Campos. After establishing a sizeable local following, the band signed to Warner Bros. in early 1998. Their first album, 1999's Wisconsin Death Trip, has gone gold on the strength of the band's high-energy live shows and endless tours with the likes of Slayer, Fear Factory, and System of a Down. |

Wayne Static and pals give their fearsome comic-book metal another supercharged kick in the ass on a manic, fist-pounding electro-metal feast! Just don't think about the Slim Jim guy.
