Consisting of guitarist Eric Krasno, drummer Alan Evans and his brother, Neal Evans, on Hammond B-3, Soulive has quickly made its way up the ranks in the jam/groove scene since forming in March, 1999. Melding a timeless sound of jazz, funk, and soul grooves reminiscent of Herbie Hancock and B-3 legend Jimmy Smith, the trio of musicians has found it’s way onto festival stages around the country, building a fan base of music lovers fond of instrumental jamming. Alan Evans was a founding member of Moon Boot Lover (of which Neal was also a member) and has also played with the Greyboy Allstars and Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe. Krasno continues to play with Lettuce, a funk band based in Boston of which he was a founding member.
