    Polak

British quintet Polak is the brainchild of brothers Pete and Krzys Fijalkowski; both played in other bands before forming Polak almost two years ago. Pete was vocalist for U.K. act Adorable, who were signed to Creation/SBK in the early '90s (they spawned the Alternative Radio single "Sunshine Smile," which garnered airplay across the U.S.). Meanwhile, brother Krzys was guitarist for the Bardots. Polak keyboardist Simon Dunford was also a member of the Bardots. Bob Brown (bass, acoustic guitar) and Chris Parsons (drums) round out Polak’s lineup.

The band’s latest offering, "Impossible," delivers a mature, soothing pop/rock sound, which emanates a mainstream vibe that will appeal to an 18+ demographic. "Impossible" encompasses an array of catchy, mid-tempo rhythms, guitar hooks and intelligent lyrics that take listeners to a heavenly musical bliss ... think modern-day R.E.M, Oasis and U2. It's no wonder members of Polak have been praised by the usually critical British music press for both their recordings and live performances.

Since 1998, Polak have released three singles, including "Impossible," which is taken from the soon-to-be-released debut album on their own The Generic Label. Give Polak a listen and you'll find yourself pleasantly surprised by their unique yet mass-appeal pop/rock sound.
