Genres: Metal,Punk
Lightning fast, barrio blasting hardcore doesn’t get any more spirited or honest. Look for the Union 13 label when heading into the mosh pit, homes. |

On this explosive political anthem, brightly-toned electric guitar screeches give way to an unrelenting barrio hardcore assault. Mad as hell as vocalist Edward Escoto bellows, “There’s no blood on my hands,” Union 13 clearly isn’t your run of the mill, “happy punk,” SoCal act. Above all else, “Innocence” conveys honesty and despair, as this “little band from East Los” erupts with the conviction that can only come from a prolonged sentence in the housing projects. Intense and brutal, they play as if their lives depend on it.

amid changing tempos from Nascar to construction zone speeds, Union 13 gives us a pretty decent song. More serious than many california punk, but without the psuedo-deepness of some others I can think of.

Union 13 is a throw back to the days of non-poppy punk. It is a refreshing change from the Blink-a-fied world of today's "punk" music. So I give it three stars.
