Tim, Lars, Matt and Brett head back to the mosh pit with “Poison,” an amphetamine-paced slab of punk genius. Demonstrating the kind of blistering gumption they haven’t put on display since Let’s Go got up and went, “Poison” (like the rest of it’s parent album) qualifies as nothin’ but an old-school punk good time. When Tim spews out lightning fast intimidations like, “Some people are poison under my skin / Like opium, I’ll stare in their eyes to annoy them,” his gruff voice blends magically with Brett’s quick-as-fuck drums and Matt’s throttle-throb bass leads. With a more subdued role than normal, glue-spiked guitarist Lars holds the chaos together for a minute and seventeen seconds of incendiary hardcore.
