Picture Chrissie Hynde with a Southern accent fronting a country-jangle band and you’ve got SCOTS’ formula down. Structured around Rick Miller’s stellar, Byrdsian guitar lines, “Just How Lonely,” is capably matched by singer Mary Huff’s heartfelt accompaniment. Emotively enunciating lyrical fare typical of the genre (“Get in the car / Go to the bar / Stare at the wall / Wonderin’ where you might be”) Huff plays the soul-in-isolation role like she’s been there before. A country rock tear-jerker, complete with organ flourishes and irresistible hooks, “Just How Lonely” is a jukebox song for the ages.

A blast from the past! Good hard rocking stuff. It sounds like it should be from 1995!

A great rockin' song with a dose of heartbreak, but what country song would be complete without a little of that?
