Genres: Rap/Hip Hop
Aknel may have a quick wit, but Slim Shady steals the show on this slice of lyrical improv! |

Eminem guests on this springy track, giving some light to his buddy, Aknel. In a slightly slurry, hard-hitting style reminiscent of Method Man, Ak proves he can freestyle (improvise in rhyme) with the best of them, his mouth an open floodgate of boastful punchlines and quick, easily digestible metaphors. But it’s Slim who steals the show. In what amounts to a 60-second cameo, he entertains and offends with his usual, socially irresponsible lyrics, delivered in his usual, glib style: “I’m the illest rapper to hold a cordless / Patrolling corners / Looking for hookers to punch in the mouth with a roll of quarters.” Adds the puckish provocateur: “I don’t promote violence, I just encourage it.” The display of spontaneous lyrical improv by Ak and Em isn’t something you’ll want to listen to over and over. But it is quite interesting in that it proves Eminem’s twisted perspective isn’t some carefully contrived device -- it flows off the top of his head quite naturally.
