Gran Torino When I Grow Up Album: Gran Torino One
Genres: Jambands
With 9 drivers behind the wheel of this sick car-wreck of a sound, it’s pretty hard to stay in your own lane. Check out this boogie-inducing ditty that’ll definitely have you gettin’ your swerve on! |

Look out! It’s the battle of the saxes! Gran Torino open up this extremely boogie-worthy ditty with a deep organ/guitar sammitch and a 3-horn pile-up that’ll definitely have you gettin’ your swerve on. It’s a little hard to decipher the lyrics due to Chris Ford’s growly vocals, but after about a minute you’re really not gonna care. This ain’t about your brain, it’s about your ass, baby! When you’ve got a B3 hammering at you backed by a ska-bouncy horn section and a hard riffing guitar, the last thing you should be doing is thinking. Add to that a slick vicoder effect on the fonky chorus vocals and you’re good to go. The track’s a bit short and they could’ve changed things up a bit, but it’s an intriguing introduction to a group of guys who care enough about you to focus on making you dance. With 9 drivers behind this sick car-wreck of a sound (I mean that in a good way), it’s pretty hard to stay in your own lane which is good, ‘cause really, that’s so boring, isn’t it?
