"This is an old school song, it's really old, this is one of the first songs we ever played together," says frontman Jim Lindberg, by way of introducing this live version of "Final Chapter" to an enthusiastic audience. That shows, as the band sounds tight and polished, without losing the rawness and energy that is the Pennywise trademark. A hard, thrashing blast of punk rock aggression, this song takes off at full velocity -- it's ready to break away from earth's gravity, it moves so fast! Pounding drums and slapping, melodic pace drive the song forward, but the thrashy guitar and anthemic vocals are at the forefront here -- it certainly seems to be getting the crowd excited, and one can easily imagine a little old school pit action while Pennywise blast this one from the stage. This will definitely please Pennywise's many fans, Warped Tour groupies, and anyone that just likes some good, old-fashioned thrash. |
