6gig's "Hit The Ground," is a good introduction to the disparate influences the band brings to its music. Marrying a heavy, hard guitar lines with stomping drums, 6gig bring the noise and the thrash, and then the melodic pop hooks kick in, giving the track a real Foo Fighters feel. 6gig definitely have the Fighters' alt-rock sensibilities down, though their sound is far more muscular, and ultimately, they rock much harder than Dave Grohl and company do. Whirring electronics and what sounds like the echo location blips from a submarine's SONAR unit give the track a little extra character. As singer Walter Craven sings the chorus' hook, "I'm only stopping to hit the ground," it becomes obvious that 6gig won't be staying on the ground for long -- if this tune is any indication, they're headed for the stratosphere!

It starts out ok, but by the chorus I had completely lost interest. I like the drums a lot, and the electronic effects, but the bulk of the song was totally average.
