Kinda figures that the Supersuckers would eventually get around to covering a Thin Lizzy tune; after all, they've got a singing bassist, and their muscular, twin-Les Paul attack comes closer than most bands to matching the artful tag-team raunch of Lizzy axemen Scott Gorham and Brian Robertson. "Jailbreak" is not an easy song to pull off -- just ask The Replacements, or any other cover band that's tried to struggle through it -- but these boys put it across in this MUSICBLITZ Exclusive with plenty of distorted, mid-range guitar squawk to spare. Singer Eddie Spaghetti seems a little tentative about handling Phil Lynott's vocal parts (hey, he's got some mighty big boots to fill), but at least his delivery helps you finally understand all the words; I've loved Lizzy for twenty years, but I never deciphered the "Like the game if you lose / Go to jail" line until now (of course, it's not particularly surprising that Eddie sounds completely in his element during the "Hey you, good lookin' female!" section). A fine salute to an underrated band, delivered with taste, energy, and probably a full case of Carling Black Label under their belts. Phil would certainly be proud. This track is an unreleased cut from the new compilation Free The West Memphis 3.

The Supersuckers have been peppering their live sets with Thin Lizzy covers for years & this is one of their best. I'm extremely happy that they have finally recorded it & released it. You couldn't come up with a better cover of a kick-ass song.
