Zero Down The Way It Is Album: n/a
Genres: Punk
Check out the very first track from a brand new punk rock supergroup! Solid, melodic, alt-rock flavored punk that should please both mallpunks and the genuine article. |

A good, driving punk rock tune that doesn't fall victim to the cliches of the genre, Zero Down's "The Way It Is" is the first glimpse of this punk rock supergroup, preceding the release of their debut album by several months. While you can hear the influence of some of the members' other bands (especially Pulley and Strung Out), Zero Down set themselves apart from their other projects by injecting a little alt-rock flavor and melody into their tunes. It's a good mix, and will definitely appeal to fans of bands like No Use For A Name and Face To Face -- like those bands' best work, "The Way It Is" has a poppy melody, but doesn't sound as candy-coated as a lot of pop-punk does. The thumping bass guitar is especially good, and adds just the right bite to the track. All in all, a good down payment towards the fortunes of their upcoming full-length!

This song could easily be the theme song from some bad pre-teen sitcom. Its the kind of punk rock that sorority girls can comfortably listen to.
