A simple tune, a simple premise: your dream spot for a little bonin’ session. Everyone has a pick or two, but Ludacris has a much longer list, from a library to a candy store to on horseback, and delivers it with doubletime gusto over a twitching, stripped-down backing track full of regulation Dirty South bounce. With only the sketchiest of melodies, the song’s real hook comes from the stuttering chorus, “I wanna li-li-lick you / From your head to your toes,” as well as the over-the-top goofiness of some of Ludacris’ picks -- one place he’d like to get busy is “onstage at a Ludacris concert/cause you know it’s sold out.” They might all be after this track, the first single off his debut album, does its work; it has the feel of a classic. |
