The man behind the axe is back, sounding every inch the '80s horror-rock icon! |

I'll be honest with you; I never really "got" Lizzy Borden. Sure, I dug his horror-rock vibe, but the music always seemed way too tame by comparison. With or without the gallons of stage blood, King Diamond, Slayer and even W.A.S.P. were far more frightening, and rocked way more harder; take away the makeup and the schtick, and Lizzy's albums could have easily been recorded by Europe, Dokken, or some other faceless hair band. That said, if you love Lizzy, "There Will Be Blood Tonight" certainly delivers the goods -- lotsa harmony lead parts and acrobatic vocal leaps, combined with Halloween-friendly lyrical imagery and a catchy chorus. To me, it sounds like watered-down Iron Maiden, but there's no denying the man's commitment to his craft.
