The Queers Oi Boy Album: Beyond The Valley
Genres: Punk
Better than a lot of the Queers recent output, but "Oi Boy" is still blown away by anything from the Love Songs For the Retarded era… |

While "Oi Boy" has a little of the charm and energy that made the Queers' mid-'90s output so appealing, it still doesn't match up to anything from that classic era. That doesn't mean it's not a good song -- to the contrary, had this melodic, fuzzy, quick-paced little flash of pop-punk come from a lesser band, it'd be revered as brilliant -- but compared with songs like "Ursula Finally Has Tits" and "You're Tripping," it just doesn't measure up. The band's loyal fans will eat this up, but more discerning listeners that have been waiting for a return to classic-era Queers aren't gonna find it here.

An upbeat fun song, but it's lacking punch, there's not really anything here that grabs you and makes you want to listen.
