Snoop Dogg Head Doctor Album: Dead Man Walkin'
Genres: Rap/Hip Hop
Bow wow wow, yippee yo, yippee NAY. Snoop “reminds us of somebody we used to know,” namely himself circa Doggystyle … now if only we could get him back. |

Bow Wow Wow, yippy yo yippy NAY. Is this unremarkable, or what? Ain’t nobody got that lilting flow like Snoop, and it’s such a shame to hear it wasted on this lackluster snoozefest. The chorus is cheesier than Velveeta -- the kind that comes in a can, all overproduced R&B bluster. Snoop sounds like he smoked out with Dre before recording and didn’t allow himself ample time to come down. “Y’all ain’t even gonna believe this shhhhh…,” he begins, and you won’t. Remember the Snoop who blew your mind with his skills on Doggystyle? Well, he’s apparently been kidnapped and replaced with a deaf clone -- it’s the only explanation for why he’d allow this cut to make it onto the album, let alone be released as the first single. Even guest Swoop G. can’t lift this one out of the dumpster, sounding like every other nondescript rapper out there. Snoop betta visit a head-doctor himself -- maybe it’ll keep him from dropping this kind of crap-rap again.
