Well, at least we know what Kevin Costner’ll probably pick as the theme song should he ever decide to do a Robin Hood sequel. Stay thee away!

Did you ever see the movie Dazed and Confused? Okay, remember the stoner chick played by that hot model Mila Jovovich? Yeah, well, ‘member that one part where she’s playing guitar and singing at that big beer-bust out at the moontower? And how you thought it was funny ‘cause she was all stoned and it sounded really cheesy? …well, John Popper must LOVE that part, ‘cause this song sounds exactly like what our fair maiden Mila was singing. Don’t get me wrong -- I reeeeally wanted to love this song. John Popper’s cool as hell, but sometimes he lets his medieval side get the best of him and he fires off one of these ballads that sound like they’d fit just a bit too well on the soundtrack of Robin Hood or something (the one with Kevin Costner, if that tells you anything). Part of the “epic tale” Decisions of the Sky: A Traveler's Tale of Sun and Storm (eeeeerrrr… four MP3 downloads do not an epic make), “12 Swords” is pretty enough, but Popper’s voice is much more captivating on the high-energy stuff. I mean, he’s singing about “harvesting husk” in the moonlight, for cryin’ out loud. Popper’s been kickin’ it at the Renaissance Faire just a bit too much -- I’d trust him with my kingdom, but I’d definitely hire someone else for the role of minstrel.

Pee-eeeewwww. This is one stanky stinch of a musical attempt. Do not listen to it, save your ears...I demand that MusicBlitz takes this sour note off the site!
