Tree O' Frogs The Jazz Children Killed Our Vocalist Album: Butter Your Lips
Genres: Jambands
Although innocent until proven guilty, we’re pretty sure the Jazz Children did it. You be the judge with this routine groove workout... Shouldn't they be in school or something? |

San Francisco groove upstarts Tree O’ Frogs serve up sultry grooves, and this one’s no exception. Although a bit repetitive, “The Jazz Children Killed Our Vocalist” is a solid enough showcase for their individual talents. Brian Shira’s rock-steady bass is the glue that holds this meandering groove together. To round out the track, throw in some freaky guitar-string scratching and some straight-ahead saxwork (but no vocals, as rumor has it the singer was killed by… ah, never mind). Tree O’ Frogs show promise, and hopefully they’ll stretch out a bit more in the future. The groundwork has been laid -- now take some risks, fellas!
