  Bad Livers
Farther Along
Album: Dust On The Bible
Genres: Alt-Country
Their livers may be bad, but their soft, easy goin’ acoustic pickin’ is, as Andy Griffith would say, “Goooooood.”

Enthusiastic country strummin’ in the back porch tradition -- think junkyard dogs weepin’ and tall glasses of Lynchburg lemonade -- makes “Farther Along” an awful purty exercise in traditional bluegrass. Culled from the group’s earliest recording session, which originally saw release on Dust On The Bible, it’s a rootsy cut with sturdy harmony work on the refrain (“Tempted and tried / We’re oft made to wonder”) from Danny Barnes and Mark Rubin, but the soft, easy- going acoustic picking is what makes this song worth remembering.
