M.G.S Unfortunate Man Album: M.G.S.
Genres: Reggae
Unfortunately, MGS's reggae track "Unfortunate Man " is plain and simple, too polished even for the radio-friendly listener. |

“Unfortunate Man” is OK synth-reggae which falls somewhere between the real thing (i.e., the polished sounds of mainstream artists Lucky Dube) and the poppy reggae appropriation of groups like Ace of Base. A call-and-response vocal pattern adds interest to a backing track that's a bit clinical sounding -- but then again, you could make the same criticism of a lot of Jamaican music once it went digital in the mid-80's. At nearly six minutes, this is a bit long (the arrangement doesn't vary much), but a familiar-sounding melody insures at least that your time will be pleasantly spent.
