Though King Black Acid tend to be compared to such psychedelic indies as My Bloody Valentine and Mercury Rev, "Colorado" exhibits more pop sensibilities than those bands can claim. In fact, "Colorado" would be right at home alongside the likes of Spacehog and Marcy Playground on "alternative" radio. Far from sounding as "five minutes ago" as those bands, though, King Black Acid keep the feeling fresh through a gorgeous, atmospheric vibe, a brave willingness to space (and stretch) things out, and dreamy vocals, especially the male-female harmonies near the tune's end. In fact, the whole track seems to get dreamier as it drifts along -- Daniel Riddle's pleasant, deep voice crooning such provocative lines as "I don't mind waiting outside while you're getting high, if you're getting higher" over a simple backing of guitar, keys, bass, and drums. After a couple of verses, the song gets increasingly ethereal, as the female vocals come in, the effects take over, and the tempo slows into meandering, sampled strings. By the track’s end, you feel set adrift on a cloud of sheer bliss, making "Colorado" an Acid trip well worth taking!

this track is very relaxing and soothing to listen to. melodic vocals that are easy to sing along with, and both vocalists prove to be quite talented.
