Irish rockers add a frozen twist to this Cole Porter standard and kill something in the process; romance never sounded so cold!

Grammy darlings U2 get all spacey and futuristic on this buzzed-up version of an old romantic standard. The classic melody barely peeks through the techno soundscape as hyper-electric instrumentation casts a sparkling sheen over Bono’s overly dramatic vocals. Icy-cold and isolating in its silvery vibe, “Night And Day” is devoid of the sophisticated romance Cole Porter surely intended, but U2’s chilling take on this tender love song is noteworthy in its polar opposition to the original.

To the reviewer before me, and all rock band bashers: These 3 bands need to retire when THEY FEEL LIKE IT. NOBODY is forcing you to listen or look, and besides, this recording was made by U2 years ago, before beautiful day. Get your facts straight.
ROCKER

Obviously Kristin is not aware that this recording is over ten years old and was the their beginning of a transition from Joshua Tree straight forward rock that the band was sick of. They have been vilified over and over for attempting to change, but let's not compare them to dinosaurs like the Stones or worse Aerosmith. This is great reording for a worthy cause.
