Genres: Metal
Ozzy Osbourne saves the day on this late-nineties update of the Peter Gabriel classic. |

Coal Chamber modernizes Peter Gabriel's 1982 hit with a Nine Inch Nails-style attack, accentuating the main riff of the original with some vicious digital distortion. Unfortunately, the aggressive music makes lead singer Dez's voice sound wimpy by comparison, and his "satanic" growls aren't much better. But bringing in Ozzy Osbourne to share the vocals is a stroke of genius. The man taps right in to the twisted heart of the song, proving that the distance between Black Sabbath and Peter Gabriel is smaller than anyone might have reasonably imagined.
