The opening cut from 1994's The Last Real Blues Band, this smokin' version of Lowell Fulson's "Reconsider Baby" finds Sir Doug in full-on West Texas blues mode, wrenching T-Bone Walker-type lead licks from his guitar while a crack thirteen-piece band slams away behind him. Sahm's soulful rasp is also present and accounted for, but it's the swinging instrumental interplay that really makes this track a treat. In all, it's a fine example of the joy and skill that Sir Doug regularly brought to his live performances.
