Robert Cray fans are sure to dig this track from the talented son of the late, great Luther Allison. |

This slow-grooving track from Bernard Allison's Times Are Changing effectively straddles the line between soul and blues, and wouldn't have sounded out of place on one of Robert Cray's late-'80s records. Allison's vocals are much earthier than Cray's, however, and his guitar stylings are far more supple, sometimes even ranging into Ernie Isley territory. In short, Allison has enough grit to appeal to fans of old-school blues, enough guitar pyrotechnics to endear him to the rock crowd, and enough talent and confidence to keep him from grandstanding to either side.

A little too Adult Contemporary-esque for me. More melodic rock than blues.
