An early Tull gem that's generally (and disappointingly) overlooked by classic-rock radio, "A New Day Yesterday" boasts one of the meatiest guitar riffs in the entire Tull canon -- just ask The Screaming Trees, who covered the song on a 1990 EP. Unfortunately, this live version (recorded during a recent performance at the Las Vegas House of Blues) is rather alarmingly over-saturated with Martin Barre's eighties-metal guitar tones, which rob the song of much of its original charm. Ian Anderson is in top form, as always, but it's hard to imagine any non-Tull fans getting much enjoyment out of this.
