It takes a good minute and a half for the beats to kick in on "Lush Life," but once they do, the amorphous, jazz-symphony experimentation turns into dark, driving trip-hop. Martha Schwendener's aloof, ethereal vocals combine with chilly, noir-ish strings to evoke an atmosphere of luxurious decay. The song's unconventional structure belies its accessibility and hypnotic power. You must hear this now!

This song is totally cool. It sounds pretty slow to begin with but it gets really good later on, and the vocals cannot be described- they're so evocative.

I was expecting the jazz standard "Lush Life". This is NOT the jazz standard, but on the contrary a very beautiful original piece still worthy of the precious title. Very mellow, comforting a luscious vocal. You WILL LIKE THIS, you!

this song kicks ass. it starts out pretty mellow, and just picks up from there, without ever getting too crazy. the bass line is awesome, and flows well with the rest of the music and vocals. I can't wait to hear the rest of this album.
