The Kennedys Pick You Up Album: Evolver
Genres: Alternative
Folk-based duo pays homage to ‘60s pop with a country twist in this catchy sing-along. Lightweight but sweet. |

A pleasant, if generic, acoustic-based rocker, “Pick You Up” shows The Kennedys in a country-pop mode. Perhaps the duo felt that it was time for a radio-friendly single; this short, melodic love song definitely fits the bill. Maura Kennedy has a sweet, clear voice, and though the chorus doesn’t mean much (“I pick you up/I lay you down”) it sticks in your brain long after the song¹s over.

the Kennedys just keep getting better & better. Its too bad that such a sensational act is unknown by the majority of the public. EVOLVER is a minor masterpiece. If you ever get a chance to see Pete & Maura you'll be in for a real treat. They are the FROZEN CUSTARD of rock & roll; the music is sweet, chilling & leaves you craving for more.
