Genres: Rap/Hip Hop
Dicke Konige convinces you that Berlin is close to Queensbridge on this homeslice of German hip-hop. |

German hip-hop might sound like an unholy marriage, but this song is a prime example of b-boy culture’s easy exportability. Dicke Konige aren’t above turning “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” into a hip-hop track (on "Die Tranen"), but “Kaboom” avoids the Hammer/Puffy school of pop-rap in favor of a few jazzy samples punctuating a laid-back beat. Plus, it’s fun to hear their heavily accented renditions of slangy English lyrics like “Oh shit! The hard-headed never learn!”
