A huge 1970 hit (in the UK, at least) for the Peter Green version of Fleetwood Mac, "Oh, Well" has been something of a bar-band staple ever since. And what better bar band could there possibly be than the Black Crowes, with Jimmy Page on lead guitar? Recorded live last year at L.A.'s Greek Theatre, this version of "Oh, Well" sticks pretty close to the spirit and arrangement ot the original, but makes room for Jimmy Page's patented brand of sloppy-ass fretwork. Chris Robinson sounds like he's singing with a clothespin on his nose, but there's nothing at all pinched about the energy that the Crowes bring to the song -- i.e., the whole thing totally rocks. Kinda makes you wish you were there, don't it?
