Make Up White Belts Album: Makeup
Genres: Alternative
Third-generation blues shouting from DC indie darlings that will at least appeal to Jon Spencer fans. |

Like similarly inspired indie-rocker Jon Spencer, The Make Up mine black music for ideas in a suspiciously condescending way. They don’t have anything of their own to bring to the party, I guess. “White Belts” is another third-generation blues rave-up that smacks of undergraduate pretension. If you can’t be bothered to dig up James Cotton or Roy Brown records (or even James Brown records, for Chrissakes) have at it; otherwise steer clear.

All yall can feel this!

The music here isn't bad but due to Ian's vocals, i'm glad this is a short song. Definately a band better to see live than to listen to at home.
