An achingly lovely melody, a memorable chorus, unabashedly romantic lyrics and Jimmie's dust-caked tenor all add up to a winner, and Emmylou Harris's backing vocal contributions don't exactly hurt, either. Jimmie fans who thought that 1996's Braver Newer World was way over-produced should be especially delighted with the song's simple and dignified arrangement, which is highlighted by co-producer Buddy Miller's tasteful guitar licks.
