Jimmie Dale Gilmore One Endless Night Album: One Endless Night
Genres: Alt-Country
An achingly lovely honky-tonk ballad that's soon to be a classic. |

One of the few original tracks on his new album, "One Endless Night" has all the earmarks of a future honky-tonk classic. An achingly lovely melody, a memorable chorus, unabashedly romantic lyrics and Jimmie's dust-caked tenor all add up to a winner, and Emmylou Harris's backing vocal contributions don't exactly hurt, either. Jimmie fans who thought that 1996's Braver Newer World was way over-produced should be especially delighted with the song's simple and dignified arrangement, which is highlighted by co-producer Buddy Miller's tasteful guitar licks. As with the best of Jimmie's tracks, "One Endless Night" will make you yearn for a warm evening, a cold beverage, and someone special to hold in your arms.

I don't really have much to say, except this a great song. The music is just right, and lets the vocals take all the attention...

Will be popular with the older crowd. Good to hear someone going back to the more traditional style country music.
