Fu Manchu Over The Edge Album: King Of The Road
Genres: Rock
Another thick, riff-rock slab from four guys who should probably change the bongwater now and then. |

"Over The Edge" was reportedly written in the studio, which might account for the track's "let’s get stoned and jam" feel. Like much of the Fu’s output thus far, "Edge" doesn’t stray far from the formula of thick-as-a-brick grunge-y guitars, big rawk drums, and a Scorpions-on-valium solo. Unfortunately, the group's primitive, stone-age riffs can’t disguise the banality of their lyrics -- until the Fu’s graduate from the Motley Crue school of rock prose, or open themselves up to new sounds (like their neo-psychedelic brethren Monster Magnet), it’s unlikely they’ll evolve beyond this paleolithic stage any time this millinneum.
