The Dickinson brothers have been steeped in music all their lives, and you can tell from the way they deliver this insanely rocking chunk of backwoods boogie. These boys don't just play the blues, they live it; though you could accurately describe "Shake 'Em On Down" as "lo-fi blues," such a description wouldn't really do justice to the in-your-face energy and joie de vivre that bursts forth from the track. It's weird enough to appeal to the alternative set, but low-down enough to gladden the heart of any true aficionado of Southern blues. The combination of a loud and funky drum groove, a relentless guitar riff, some really distorted vocals, a couple of sweet dobro breakdowns, and a passionate request for a "big-legged woman" will surely have you hankerin' for a hot goat-meat sandwich and a shot of moonshine straight from the still.
