Deborah Harry and Robert Jacks Der Einzeger Weg Album: Der Einzeger Weg
Genres: Pop,Rock
Perhaps the first slasher-flick theme not to include screaming strings or panicked horns, this torch song would sound more at home in Weimar Berlin than the Texas prairie. |

An oddie but a goodie, this Kurt Weill-ish ditty, “Der Einzeger Weg” (“The Only Way” in English) served as the “love theme” from the slasher update The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation. Doing her best Deitrich, Harry turns in a tough yet wistful performance. There’s only the slightest hint in her clear, emotive vocals that her duet partner is Leatherface (actually actor Robert Jacks). Breathtakingly absurd and relatively obscure, “Der Einzeger Weg” is perfect fodder for your next mix tape.

Not a blondie song hey it works

Picture Debbie laying on a piano, singing in German, at a lounge bar, in a musical on stage. very dramatic but not something to listen to repeatedly.
