For some, Kurupt's explanation of why girls just can't resist guns and gangstas (the title is a takeback allusion to the 1984 Klymaxx hit, "The Men All Pause") will sound like a recap of all the stereotypes PCers have come to loathe about hip-hop. What helps it transcend those concerns is the underlying sense of goofiness: besides being undeniably catchy, the deep-voiced, singsong chorus from Kurupt's former Dogg Pound bandmates and the staccato keyboard hook suggest the tune is at least a bit tongue-in-cheek, and take the edge off the tales of hotel room shack-ups and me-and-my-jimmy machismo.
