Anthony Michael Hall (Welcome to the...) Hall of Mirrors Album: (Welcome to the...) Hall of Mirrors
Genres: R&B
No joke: the long-lost teen movie star and "SNL" cast member returns to the limelight, . . .and he's got the blues. |

The former teen star of Sixteen Candles and The Breakfast Club (we'll cut him some slack and refrain from mentioning Johnny Be Good) doesn't embarrass himself on his maiden musical outing. Hall wisely brought in a few ringers, like New Power Generation keyboardist Tommy Barbarella, to bring his tunes to life, and the polish shows on this Lenny Kravitz-style funky blues. Of course, the vocals are so heavily processed that it's impossible to tell whether Hall can actually sing, and neither the music nor the lyrics here show much inventiveness. But give the guy credit for at least a couple of things: one, having the guts to offer up his music like a big, fat softball to salivating wiseass critics like yours truly; and two, for resisting the urge to duet with ex-Miami Vice cop Philip Michael Thomas, who was apparently around during the making of Hall's album.

Oh no, please stick with acting! The music isn't bad but Anthony's vocals are so annoying and inconsistant.

What the hell was that, all I heard was some guy whining, kinda reminded me of that kid in Blair Witch.
