After including a live version of the song on 1997's Official Live CD, Pantera finally busted out a studio version of "Where You Come From" for the soundtrack to Strangeland, Dee Snider's 1998 horror film, and boy, is it a muthafugga. Dimebag Darrell somehow finds a way to fuse the rhythmic crunch of Black Sabbath Vol. 4 with the nimble solos of the first Van Halen album, and the whole thing hurtles forward with the frightening power of a locomotive stoked by melted Metallica records. Don't know exactly what Phil Anselmo is singin' about — the phrase "bottle of whiskey" keeps popping up, and it sounds like he's belching air during the solo — but his intensity never wavers for a second. If you missed this track when it came out two years ago, now's a good time to catch up.

Hey dumb fuks, this song wasn't live on 101 Proof! It was studio, along with I CAN'T HIDE. Research people, bloody fukn research! By the way, song is not their best, but makes the teeth bleed either way.
