	Fans of Lou Barlow�s rhythm-oriented side project The Folk Implosion will enjoy this mournful little beatfest. Like that duo�s hit �Natural One,� and the Sebadoh single �Flame,� �Crystal Crossed� revolves around muddy keyboard wheezing and a jangly, syrupy backbeat. The lyrics are trademark Barlow, picking viciously at the scabs of tainted relationships, and delivered with the aural equivalent of a poker face. �Are you in love with a boy or a drug?� he intones laconically. �Are you high when he bends to hug you? When you�re with him are you out of your head? Is he the ghost floating over our bed?� Barlow�s lo-fi formula has lost some of its freshness, but it still insinuates itself into your head with awesome efficiency.
